Objectives: Design, install an uplighting scheme of unusual precision and efficiency, to enhance the architectural details and decoration of this benchmark renovation. Lighting to be out of sight-lines, unobtrusive and lend a lightness and airiness to this monumental public space, while projecting a controlled wash of light over its vast arched surfaces.

Execution: Installed Rambusch Pan-A-Lux architectural uplighting fixtures that utilize asymmetric reflectors of parabolic and cylindrical segments to provide optimum light from their tungsten halogen and HQI lamp sources. Position fixtures above column caps and in secondary arches to supplement daylight ambience and creates a compatible nighttime environment.

Results: Use of the highly efficient Pan-A-Lux fixtures permitted use of fewer fixtures without sacrificing Photometric integrity, thus achieving significant cost, maintenance and energy savings.
