Objectives: To create a system of lighting that would accentuate the space as well as generate the needed volume of high light levels associated with visually demanding tasks such as creating graphics and copy.

Execution: By using a modified housing, which the architect selected, that holds both the optic on an adjustable yoke as well as the ballast, the indirect needs of the space could be met without creating the feel of a lower ceiling generated by long lengths of suspended linear fluorescents.

Results: The PAL-XL-MOD architectural uplite provided a bright, evenly illuminated ceiling, thus creating a successful indirect lighting solution. The room is full of light, yet the source is hidden. The fixtures clustered around the architectural detail of the columns keep the room open and takes advantage of the full height of the ceiling.
